Founded by Tamisha Binion, A Peace of Lovelace Apothecary is a sacred space dedicated to holistic healing, spirituality, and maternal wellness. The name itself carries deep meaning—“Peace” representing both serenity and a personal offering, while “Lovelace” honors Tamisha’s great-grandmother’s maiden name, a nickname she has proudly carried as a symbol of legacy and strength.

Tamisha’s journey as a healer began in 2017 when she self-published her poetry book, A Peace of Lovelace, a deeply personal reflection of life’s highs and lows, chronicling her healing and spiritual path while manifesting in the most positive—but still badass—way. Her passion for wellness led her to create handmade products designed to support not just herself but others on their own transformative journeys.

After experiencing the challenges of childbirth firsthand in 2014, Tamisha became a Birth Doula in 2021, followed by Postpartum Doula certification in 2022 through DONA. She saw the gaps in support for birthing people and made it her mission to change that. As a Doula Partner with The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness: Saving Our Babies, she has provided doula services to over 140 families and was nationally recognized by 2L Ninety as a Black Doula organization expecting mothers should know. Her leadership in maternal health extends further as a Board Member of the Black Maternal & Child Health Alliance (2024).

Beyond birth work, Tamisha embodies holistic wellness, blending her expertise as a Full-Spectrum Doula, Herbalist, Florist, and Laboratory Technician. Her apothecary isn’t just a brand—it’s a family, a movement, and a safe space for healing and self-discovery. With features in Madison Magazine’s Hot List and Yelp Madison, A Peace of Lovelace continues to grow, ensuring that all who seek healing feel seen, heard, and supported on their journey.

At its core, A Peace of Lovelace is a tribute—to legacy, to healing, and to the power of community
